What started out as a day dream ended up turning into a full-scale operation; serving over 450 customers and entertaining over 1,000 Instagram followers. In the fall of 2019, we saw how hungry students could get at night and decided to help some of our friends out by cooking a few bowls of Mac and cheese (from our room 590 at the Central Campus Residence Hall at the University of Vermont). At that moment we knew we had a unique opportunity to feed our peers while making a few bucks for ourselves on the side. From there we worked tirelessly to create hot-and-ready food, or as we call "Gourmet Delights", at a price students could afford and at a time when they need it most. As our market rapidly grew, we were starting to become bigger than just a mac & cheese stand. We started making other delights to diversify our menu and customers. To take it a step further, we began to create interactive social media content that would bring in new customers. We also designed logos that would be put on stickers and t-shirts that are available for purchase on our online store! Today, 59O Operations is a food service and a brand that aims to please college students in unique and exciting ways. Through a semester of business, we have learned countless lessons about business, Mac & Cheese, and of course, our supportive customers. Despite our first year getting cut short due to unfortunate circumstances, we have big plans for the years to come!
